Welcome back Meinco readers! Today we’re going to discuss what you can do to prepare for an upcoming septic tank pump from our team at Meinco Wastewater Systems. We’re located in Central Arkansas, so if you’re a homeowner in the area and have any wastewater needs, we would love to help you!
Alright, so you may be very familiar with a septic system at your home OR you could be new to septic tank ownership. Either way, there are always things that you can do to educate yourself when it comes to taking care of your septic system. We all want a working septic system, right? We thought you’d agree! Good maintenance and septic system care goes a long way when it comes to keeping the health and balance of your septic system right where it needs to be.
When it’s your scheduled time for maintenance and pumping with your septic tank, there are a few things you can do beforehand to prepare. That’s where we come in! Here are a few of our favorite tips to help you prepare for your visit.
PREPARE FOR COSTS: You’ll want to be prepared for the budget of the maintenance of your septic tank. This may sound simple, but something to consider if you’re new to septic tank ownership. Depending on the size of the tank, level of waste, and a few other factors, the average tank maintenance costs can vary. Be sure to call ahead of time and get a quote from our team to be sure you know what to expect. Our team is happy to chat with you should you have any concerns or questions when it comes to your septic system.
PREPARE FOR REPAIRS: You may want to go ahead and leave a little bit of room in your budget should any repairs come up to keep your tank in good working order. This can be especially crucial if it’s been a while since your last maintenance visit or if you just took over a septic tank from the previous owner of the home.
LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION. Before our team heads out to your home, go ahead and get familiar with the location of your septic tank. If you’ve recently become a homeowner with a septic tank, you might not actually know where certain parts of your system are located. You can always consider asking the former homeowners or even contacting the actual septic installers of your system to sketch out a simple map for you. This can help save you a lot of time and effort should ever want to do some landscaping with trees or have work done over or around your septic system. This will also help tremendously when it comes to locating it for pumping purposes. Of course, not everyone is familiar with locating their tank and we can always help out in this area too! Again, that’s what we’re here for and customer service is a huge part of our job at Meinco Wastewater.
