Welcome back to another Q & A blog post from our team at Meinco Wastewater! In this blog series, we’re answering your questions when it comes to all things septic and wastewater systems.
Today’s question is “How often should I have my septic system inspected?”
Great question! The number one issue for homeowners or businesses who run on septic systems is the lack of maintenance and care that ultimately leads to a multitude of problems that no one has the time for. So, first and foremost we want to make sure it’s addressed that the more you take care of your system and keep it maintained, the better it will work now and down the road for you.
Here at Meinco Wastewater, we typically recommend having your system inspected once a year for a regular maintenance visit. There’s plenty that can happen within and around your septic system each year, so having a professional take a look around and make sure things are in good working order is crucial to a healthy system for your household. Once you’re on a regular maintenance schedule with us, you’re able to stress-less and focus more on the things you want to, instead of worries of issues with your septic system. That way, no matter the season and the conditions of the weather, you know your system has been looked at and properly maintained. Of course, should something come up unexpectedly, we obviously would suggest giving us a call as soon as you notice the problem. Otherwise, we recommend a yearly maintenance inspection visit from our team to keep your system up and running as it should.
*Some systems require less maintenance, so visit frequencies can vary from 1-3 years. We like to treat those situations on a more case-by-case basis.
Let our guys on the Meinco team keep an eye on things so you don’t have to!
